Job Title: 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic

Job Description:

Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty mobile equipment used in construction, transportation, mining, and related industries

Perform inspections and troubleshooting on engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, axles, brakes, and electronic control systems

Disassemble and reassemble equipment components, including engines, fuel systems, powertrains, and undercarriages

Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan

Utilize diagnostic tools, computerized systems, and technical manuals to identify and resolve mechanical issues

Weld, fabricate, and modify equipment parts as needed to complete repairs

Complete work orders, maintenance logs, and inspection reports accurately and in compliance with safety standards

Adhere to all workplace health and safety regulations and participate in ongoing training

Qualifications:

Valid 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Certificate of Qualification (Ontario)

Strong mechanical aptitude with experience servicing diesel-powered equipment

Ability to interpret technical diagrams and repair manuals

Proficient in the use of diagnostic equipment and hand/power tools

Physically capable of working in challenging environments and conditions (e.g., outdoor, remote sites)
